धूप में जलते सूखते पत्ते,
सूखकर, टहनियों से टूटते पत्ते ।
टूटकर गिरते बिखरते पत्ते,
जीवन से फिर भी नहीं रूठते पत्ते ।।
गिरकर मेघों को तकते पत्ते,
वर्षा-जल में भीगते गलते पत्ते ।
गल-गलकर मिट्टी में मिलते पत्ते,
जीवन को कभी नहीं छलते पत्ते ||
मिट्टी-पानी से जब सनते पत्ते,
सन-सनकर खाद बनते पत्ते ।
गिरते बीजों को तब जनते पत्ते,
नव-पादप कि बुनियाद बनते पत्ते ।।
हरदम जीते, नहीं कभी मरते पत्ते,
बीज, टहनी, फलों में उतरते पत्ते ।
सृष्टि रचते, सृष्टा को भजते पत्ते,
स्वयं अमर सबको अमर करते पत्ते ।।
