Squid Game: Season 2
Squid Games has returned with its Season 2 today on 26th December, 2024. From the day the first season was released on 17th September, 2021, viewers from all over the world were eagerly waiting for its season 2. Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who was designated as Player 456 in the OTT series again plays the game with an aim to find who is behind the organization playing with the lives of people in the name of a contest. Written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, this series is captivating. It has such an interesting plot that it becomes difficult for watchers to turn the device off once they start watching this.
What is Squid Game
The Squid Game is actually a traditional children’s game from South Korea. It was very popular there in the 1970s and 1980s. The game involves two teams, one attacking and the other defending. To play it, a large squid-shaped figure is drawn on the ground with a triangle inside the top circle and a square inside the bottom circle. The defending team stays within the boundaries of the squid and can move comfortably on both feet while the attacking team starts outside the boundaries and can only jump on one foot. To win, the attacking team has to touch the small triangle at the top of the squid, i.e. the “head” of the squid, without being caught by the defending team. Similarly, if the defending player tags the attacking player, they are out of the game. This game is not only entertaining but also physically challenging. Perhaps its features inspired Hwang Dong-hyuk to make a Netflix series on it.
What the viewers can expect in the new Season
Some new faces will be playing the game due to their own personal reasons. But, Gi-hun has much idea about the sinister plot and he is expected to excel way ahead of them. Will he be able to do so and expose the culprits? Let me not spoil it. Just watch and know.
